Furniture, imagined around you.

A single chair can change the way a room is used. A coordinated composition can bring its materials, proportions and everyday rituals into conversation. At I’m in New Delhi, bespoke furniture begins with the piece and the setting it will belong to.

The archive includes upholstered sofas and chairs, beds, centre and coffee tables, consoles, screens and accessories. Contemporary, classical and experimental collections show different approaches to form. These are references for a conversation about your needs, rather than a promise that every archived design is available unchanged.

Material choices are considered together: the warmth of wood, the precision of metal, the surface of stone and the touch of fabric. The studio’s work includes hand-sculpted and handcrafted elements, with engraving, embossing and inlay within its material vocabulary. The relationship between finish, structure and use matters as much as the first impression.

In the Chandigarh residence archive, a black upholstered sofa, a white chaise, tables and sculptural lighting form a coordinated setting. Elsewhere, reclaimed wood consoles and experimental seating show how a piece can have a strong individual identity. Explore the photographs to see these differences in proportion and character.

For an initial discussion, bring the room dimensions, photographs of the setting, references you respond to and an idea of how the furniture will be used. If you are an architect or designer, a sketch or plan can help communicate the relationship between the piece and the wider scheme. Contact the studio to discuss scope, material options and the requirements of your commission.
